From Consultation to Estimate
We know choosing a contractor is a big decision, and clear information upfront makes all the difference. Our estimating process is straightforward and transparent, giving you an accurate picture of your project so you can make informed decisions without surprises.
We’re here to help. If you’re unsure about any part of the process or just want to talk through your project, reach out anytime, we’re happy to answer your questions!
Phase 1: Getting Started with Your Estimate
After receiving your inquiry, by phone, text, email, or through our online form, a Matthew 6 Construction representative will contact you within two business days. During this step, we gather initial details about your project, answer early questions, and determine the best next steps.
You may be asked to provide:
Project address
Photos of the existing space (if applicable)
A general description of the scope of work
Timeline or planning considerations
This information allows us to prepare for your consultation with a clear understanding of your goals!
Initial Consultation & Good Faith Estimate
This phase begins with a phone conversation with our estimator to better understand your project and explore how we may be able to assist. We’ll talk through your ideas, priorities, layout considerations, and general style preferences, while also answering any initial questions you may have.
From this discussion, we provide a preliminary good faith estimate to help you assess budget alignment and whether the project is a good fit.
If it meets your expectations, we’ll schedule an on-site meeting to gather details for the final written estimate.
Preconstruction Services Phase
Once you’ve reviewed the good faith estimate and decide to move forward, we schedule a time for our estimator to visit your home or project site. This on-site visit allows us to gather all the necessary information and details, such as measurements, conditions, and specific project requirements, so we can prepare a final, accurate written estimate.
Site Visits: Assessing your property and existing conditions
Subcontractor Coordination: Consulting with trade partners for accurate cost input
Design Collaboration: Reviewing layouts, materials, and finishes to capture your vision
Supplier & Material Meetings: Confirming pricing and availability
If you move forward and approve the final estimate, the Preconstruction Services Fee is applied toward your total project cost.
The Preconstruction Services Fee includes:
