Getting Started

Yes. We start with a Good Faith Estimate call where we talk through your project, goals, and overall scope of work. During that call, we provide a rough price estimate and follow up with a written summary of what was discussed so you have a clear understanding of the project before moving into more detailed planning and estimating!

The Good Faith Estimate call is a virtual meeting held over Google Meet with our estimator. We’ll discuss your project goals, ideas, budget, and timeline and review any photos, plans, or other information you have available. We’ll also answer questions and provide a rough estimate for the project.
Since the call is virtual, we’re able to transcribe the conversation and send you a written summary afterward so you have everything to look back on.

Every project is a little different, but our process starts with the Good Faith Estimate call and rough estimate. If you decide to move forward, the next step is our pre-construction process, which includes an on-site visit and the additional work needed to develop a more detailed proposal.
The timing can vary depending on the project, scope, and our current schedule. We’ll always do our best to give you an idea of what to expect along the way.

After the Good Faith Estimate call and rough estimate, if you choose to move forward and sign the pre-construction agreement, we schedule an on-site visit. We’ll take detailed measurements, evaluate existing conditions, coordinate with subcontractors when needed, and gather the information necessary to refine your project scope.
This allows us to put together a more detailed proposal based on the actual conditions of your project rather than simply providing a number based on photos or a phone conversation.

We focus on residential construction including custom new home builds, additions, kitchen and bathroom remodels, basements, windows, doors, decks, roofing, and custom interior and exterior projects.

No, we do not work on manufactured or mobile homes. Our new-home construction work focuses on custom stick-built homes. We do, however, work on a variety of residential remodeling and exterior projects.

Yes, we can work with homeowners building through Dickinson Homes as their builder. If you’re considering a modular home, let us know early in the process so we can help explain how our role fits into the project.

There are some types of projects we’re not currently able to take on, including manufactured or mobile homes, insurance claim work, foundation repair or home raising, kit structures, and certain specialty projects.

Yes. We handle the necessary permits and coordinate inspections as part of the construction process.

Yes, but changes to the original scope after the contract is signed are handled through a change order.
Change orders may be needed if you request updates, if we discover existing conditions that don’t meet code, or if unforeseen issues come up during construction. Any changes are documented and reviewed with you, and work only moves forward once you approve them.

Yes. We stand behind our workmanship and provide warranty coverage according to the terms of your contract. Manufacturer warranties apply separately to products and materials supplied by their manufacturers.

Yes. Matthew 6 Construction is fully licensed and insured. We take professionalism, safety, and quality seriously on every project.
Service Area & Financing

We serve Ludington and surrounding West Michigan communities, including Mason, Oceana, Lake, and Manistee counties. If you’re nearby but outside of these areas, feel free to reach out and we can let you know if your project is within our service area.

Yes. We work with Acorn Finance, a third-party lending network that allows homeowners to explore payment options from multiple lenders. We’re also happy to work with a lender of your choice.
