Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers about our process, services, materials, and how we work
Popular Client Questions
Here are some of the most common questions we get from homeowners in Ludington and surrounding West Michigan areas. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out, we’re happy to help!
“Do you offer free estimates?”
Yes. We start with a Good Faith Estimate call where we talk through your project, goals, and overall scope of work. During that call, we provide a rough price estimate and follow up with a written summary of what was discussed so you have a clear understanding of the project before moving into more detailed planning and estimating.
“What makes Matthew 6 Construction different?”
We focus on clear communication, organized planning, and quality craftsmanship. Homeowners work directly with a team that values transparency and doing things the right way from start to finish!
“What areas do you serve?”
We serve Ludington, MI and surrounding West Michigan communities, including Mason, Oceana, Lake, and Manistee counties. If you’re nearby, feel free to reach out!
“Do you handle permits and inspections?”
Yes. We handle the necessary permits and coordinate inspections as part of the construction process.
“Do you build or work on manufactured homes?”
No, we do not work on manufactured homes. We specialize exclusively in custom stick-built construction.
“Do you work on small projects?”
Yes. We handle both large and small projects, from full remodels to smaller custom work and repairs.
“Do you offer financing?”
Yes. We work with Acorn Finance to help homeowners explore flexible payment options from multiple lenders. We are also happy to work with any lender you provide.
“What is included in the Pre-Construction Services Fee?”
After the Good Faith Estimate call and rough estimate, if you choose to move forward and sign the pre-construction agreement, we schedule an on-site visit. This is included in the pre-construction services fee and allows us to take detailed measurements, evaluate existing conditions, coordinate with subcontractors, and refine your project scope. This helps ensure your final estimate is accurate, detailed, and aligned with your goals before construction begins.
“Can I make changes once the project starts?”
Yes, but changes to the original scope after the contract is signed are handled through a change order.
Change orders may be needed if you request updates, if we discover existing conditions that don’t meet code, or if unforeseen issues come up during construction. Any changes are documented and reviewed with you, and work only moves forward once you approve it.
“What types of projects do you specialize in?”
We focus on residential construction including new home builds, additions, kitchen and bathroom remodels, windows, doors, basements, and custom interior/exterior projects.
“Are you licensed and insured?”
Yes, Matthew 6 Construction is fully licensed and insured. We take professionalism and safety seriously on every project, from small remodels to full home builds.
“Is the owner’s name Matthew?”
No, Matthew 6 Construction was founded by Christian Vogel. The company name was inspired by Matthew 6 in the Bible and reflects the faith-centered foundation the company was built on! 🧡✝️
