Position: Project Manager

Joel Bates is a Project Manager at Matthew 6 Construction. He brings a unique background from his previous career as a boat mechanic on the Great Lakes, where he provided shore support on a tug and worked as an engineer aboard lake vessels. His experience in maritime environments helped develop strong problem-solving skills and mechanical knowledge, which he first applied as a Lead Carpenter before moving into his current role.

Joel considers himself a “student of life,” always looking for opportunities to learn, grow, and refine his craft. He takes pride in attention to detail and believes small things make a big difference in the success of a project.

He values the culture at Matthew 6 Construction, where respect, communication, and teamwork create a positive environment for both staff and clients.

Joel and his wife live on Hamlin Lake, where they enjoy spending time with their two dogs, boating, and exploring local trails.
