A Collaborative New Home Build
Ludington, MI
For this home, the homeowner chose to complete certain phases of the project themselves. This is something we often see, especially with new builds, and it’s a great option for homeowners who want to stay involved and help manage overall costs!
At Matthew 6 Construction, we’re always happy to work in a way that fits the project best. Some clients want a full start-to-finish build, while others prefer a shared approach like this one.
Our Role in the Build
Our team handles the core structural and utility phases that form the backbone of the home, including bringing in site materials and coordinating delivery, installing the well and septic system, running electrical service to the home (a major step in any new build), framing the structure, and hanging and finishing drywall.
These stages establish the foundation of the home and prepare it for the remaining phases of construction.
The Homeowner’s Role in the Build
Roofing, siding, and finish work after drywall are handled by the homeowner as part of the overall project approach.
This allows for a more flexible build process depending on goals, budget, and level of involvement.
Built Around the Project
Not every new build follows the same structure. Some projects are fully managed start to finish, while others involve shared responsibilities between the builder and homeowner.
The goal in every case is the same, build it right, keep the process clear, and align with what works best for the project.
Thinking About a New Build?
For anyone planning a custom home in the Ludington area, every project starts with a conversation about goals, scope, and the right approach for the build!
