A Two-Story
Garage Addition
More room for storage, work, and everyday lake house living.
Adding Space for Summer Living | Mears, MI
This summer home needed a little more space, so we helped the homeowners make room for more of what they needed. The two-story garage addition brings together a spacious garage, a first-floor mudroom and bathroom, and additional office and storage space upstairs.
Making Room for More
The goal was to create a functional addition that would make the home easier to use without taking away from its original character. The garage provides plenty of room on the main level, while the second floor offers a separate space for work and storage.
With a mudroom and bathroom also included on the first floor, the addition adds convenience for the family while keeping the main house less crowded.
Bringing It All Together
Connecting the new addition with the existing home was an important part of the project. We carried the exterior updates across both structures with new siding, giving the home a more consistent look while helping the addition feel like it belonged from the start.
From the foundation to the roof, our team handled the exterior construction and the key interior features included in the original plan. Since the homeowners live out of town, keeping communication clear and coordinating the work along the way helped the project stay on track.
The homeowners chose to take on the remaining interior finishing themselves, allowing them to manage costs while still getting the additional space they needed.
More Space to Enjoy
The finished addition gives the family a more functional garage, extra room to work and store belongings, and a few added conveniences that make summer living easier. It's a practical update that makes better use of the property while keeping the home looking cohesive.
“Their work was impeccable, and it wasn't just the construction crew. The plumbers, the electrician, everybody involved was fantastic. Their quality was amazing. When they said they were going to be there, they were there, and the job was finished on time.”
