A Whole New Look, Inside and Out!

Sometimes, a home just needs a fresh start! From new siding and stone accents to a completely remodeled bathroom, this project brought a whole new look and feel to the home.

A Fresh Exterior Transformation

Irons, MI

This home was ready for a refresh, and we got to work giving the exterior a whole new look! New LP SmartSide siding, fresh paint, updated windows and doors, a new roof, and stone accents all came together to transform the home's appearance.

But, as with many remodeling projects, there was a little more to the story than what you could see from the outside!

Once the old siding came off, we discovered quite a bit of rotted OSB sheathing along the lake-facing wall, the same side with all those windows and beautiful lake views. That meant removing and replacing the damaged material before moving forward with the new siding.

It's a good reminder that sometimes you don't know exactly what a project needs until you start opening things up. Unexpected issues can come up, especially in older homes and along the lakeshore. While these discoveries can add extra work to the project, taking care of them properly helps ensure the new materials have a solid foundation to go on.

And once that work was taken care of, it was time to bring the new exterior together!

The Details That Made the Difference

The new LP SmartSide cedar-texture lap siding gave the home a fresh, updated look, while the dark CertainTeed architectural shingles added a nice contrast overhead. New white soffit and fascia, replacement windows, and a new sliding patio door helped pull everything together.

We also incorporated ProVia stone accents on select areas of the exterior, adding texture and character alongside the new siding. And with a new Therma-Tru entry door, the updates carried all the way to the front entrance!

It's amazing how much of a difference new materials, complementary colors, and a little attention to detail can make.

A Bathroom Refresh, Too!

The exterior wasn't the only part of this home getting some love! Inside, the existing bathroom received a complete remodel with a new layout designed around the homeowners' needs.

The project involved reworking the plumbing, installing customer-selected tile on the shower walls and floor, and adding updated fixtures and a new toilet. We also incorporated a new water heater and prepared the space for a future washer and dryer hookup.

With the homeowners choosing their own tile, vanity, countertop, and lighting, the space could come together around their personal style rather than a one-size-fits-all design.

Bringing It All Together

Between the refreshed exterior, the added stone detail, and the newly remodeled bathroom, this project made a big difference both inside and out!

And while the unexpected rot behind the siding wasn't part of the original plan, addressing it was an important part of getting the job done right. Remodeling isn't always a straight line from start to finish, but working through those surprises is part of making sure the finished result is something homeowners can feel good about.

We love seeing a project come together, especially when you can look back at where it started and see just how much has changed! 🧡
