After previously building a set of custom bunk beds for this homeowner, she reached back out when she was ready to add more sleeping space to her vacation home. That original set featured twin beds on both the top and bottom bunks.
The goal was to create additional room for family and guests while keeping the bunk room functional, comfortable, and easy to navigate. Since the existing bunk beds had worked so well for the space, we designed a second matching set to complete the room!
Built for Busy Vacation Weekends
With family and friends gathering at the lake, the room needed to accommodate more guests without feeling crowded!
To make the most of the space, we built two custom bunk bed units directly into the wall. Each bunk features a larger lower bed sized for a full or queen mattress, with a twin bunk above. Between the two sets, we incorporated a staircase that provides easy access to the upper bunks while helping create a clean, built-in appearance.
By building everything directly into the room, we were able to maximize sleeping space while keeping the layout open and comfortable. The finished bunk room is ready for everything from summer vacations to holiday weekends with family!
Thoughtful Details That Make a Difference!
The bunk beds were built directly into the wall to create a seamless look while making the most of the room’s available space. The lower bunks were sized for full or queen mattresses, giving guests of all ages a more comfortable place to sleep, while twin bunks above help maximize overall capacity. A built-in central staircase provides safe and easy access to the upper bunks, and the new design was carefully matched to the set we had previously built to create a cohesive, consistent look throughout the room.
