Front Deck Transformation
What started as a small front entry is now a custom deck built for relaxing, hosting, and enjoying time outside.
The home's original front porch had limited space and an existing roof and railing system that were ready for a refresh. The homeowner wanted to make better use of the front of the house, creating a more welcoming entry with additional room to sit, gather, and spend time outdoors.
To make that happen, we removed the existing columns, roof covering, and railings to start fresh. The goal was to build a larger, covered porch that felt like a natural extension of the home while giving the front entry a whole new look.

Building a Bigger, Covered Porch
With the original structure removed, we built a new 8-by-23-foot porch along the front of the house, complete with a wood-framed roof. The added covered space provides more room to enjoy the outdoors while offering shelter from the elements.
We also updated the siding along the front of the home with new light gray vinyl siding, giving the exterior a fresh, cohesive appearance. Above the porch, gray shingles were selected to match the home's existing roof, helping the new structure blend seamlessly with the original design.
The Details That Pull It Together
The new pressure-treated decking creates a durable foundation for the porch, with matching deck boards used on the stair treads and risers. A new staircase, built to meet applicable building code requirements, provides a more substantial and welcoming approach to the front entry.
Around the porch and stairs, treated wood railings paired with black aluminum spindles add contrast and a clean, finished look. Black post caps at the base of the stairs and vertical deck boards around the lower perimeter complete the design, giving the new porch a consistent appearance from top to bottom.
A New Look for the Front of the Home
The finished porch brings together added outdoor living space and a refreshed exterior. What was once a more limited front entry is now a covered porch with room to sit, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy being outside.
By rebuilding the structure, extending the porch, and updating the surrounding exterior details, we created an entry that feels more inviting and makes better use of the home's available space. It's a transformation that improves both the look of the house and the way the homeowner can enjoy it every day.
