Turning Unused Space

Into Function

Transforming unused space into a bright, functional half-bath.

A Small Space With New Purpose | Manistee, MI

Sometimes, the best home improvements come from making better use of the space you already have. In this Manistee home, an underutilized nook presented an opportunity to add something the home was missing: a convenient, well-designed half-bath.

With careful planning and thoughtful finish selections, we transformed the small area into a space that feels intentional, inviting, and right at home with the rest of the house.

Making Every Square Foot Count

Working within a compact footprint meant every detail mattered. The layout needed to accommodate the necessary fixtures while keeping the room comfortable and open, without making the most of the available space feel like a compromise.

The existing triangular window became a standout feature, bringing natural light into the room and adding character you wouldn't find in an ordinary half-bath. Paired with carefully selected finishes and a streamlined pedestal sink, the design keeps the room feeling bright and uncluttered.

Thoughtful Features, Beautiful Results

A Small Change With a Big Impact

What was once an overlooked nook now serves a practical purpose in the home. By making better use of the available space, we added everyday convenience while creating a half-bath that feels like it was always meant to be there.

It's a great example of how thoughtful planning can turn an underused area into something both functional and beautiful.
