This lakefront cottage had been part of the family for years, but over time, uneven floors, outdated spaces, and structural concerns caused by the high water table made it difficult to comfortably enjoy the home. After careful consideration, the decision was made to start fresh with a full tear-down and rebuild!
The goal was to create a home that felt updated and functional while still holding onto the cozy charm of a classic Michigan lake cottage. 🌊

With a tight lakefront lot, every square foot needed to be carefully planned. The finished cottage includes two bedrooms, one full bathroom, and one half bath, creating a layout that feels open, comfortable, and efficient without losing its cozy feel!
To help protect the home long term, the new build includes a crawl space with a sump pump system designed to handle the challenges of the high water table. A new front deck also replaced the original, giving the family a welcoming outdoor space to relax and enjoy the lake views.
